JOB SPECIFICATION
Under the general supervision of College Principal, he/she is responsible for the budgeting and organisation of the finances of the college. He/she will keep accurate records and be responsible and accountable for the collection and distribution of monies.
JOB QUALIFICATION AND ABILITY
- Degree in Accounting studies
- Three years experience at the qualification level
- Accurate, careful and honest
- Respectful in dealing with financial matters with students
- Ability to safeguard confidential materials
- Ability to prioritise work to deadlines
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining all financial records
- Advises college management on financial standing
- Remittance of withholding tax to MRA
- Making bank transactions on behalf of the college
- Producing bank reconciliations
- Assists the college in making yearly budgets
- Maintains accounts of suppliers and other creditors and ensuring that entries are properly incurred transactions
- Checking purchases against purchase orders and inspecting the goods
- Couching and verifying all invoices and delivery notes before payments
- Checking all inventory lists regularly and ensuring stock levels
- Collection of fees from the students at the beginning of each school year
- Maintaining accounts of funding from donors
- Supervises accounts assistant
