Plastimax Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to oversee financial transactions, manage factory cost accounting, maintain regulatory compliance, and prepare accurate financial reports for our manufacturing and recycling operations.
Key Responsibilities (Job Description)
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Cost Accounting: Track and analyze manufacturing inputs, raw material recycling costs, and production overheads.
- Tax & Compliance: Manage MRA tax obligations, including timely filing of VAT, PAYE, and Withholding Tax.
- Inventory Control: Oversee factory stock reconciliations, raw material tracking, and finished goods audits.
- Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger, process accounts payable/receivable, and execute bank reconciliations.
- Payroll Administration: Process monthly employee payroll and manage TEVET levy and pension contributions.
- Budgeting: Assist management in preparing annual budgets and monitoring cost variances.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA, CIMA, or ICAM) is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or Tally) and MS Excel.
- Basic understanding of Malawian tax laws and statutory regulations.
- Fresh graduates are also encouraged to apply.
