OVERVIEW

Kawjo Foundation is looking for a qualified Accounts Assistant to support the organization’s accountant in carrying out various financial operations.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Process payment vouchers, cheque payments, and funds transfers
  • Review payment vouchers and ensure they are properly approved and supported
  • File payment vouchers and related documents promptly
  • Source quotations from suppliers and collect procured goods
  • Receipt and bank excess cash float
  • Review cash float liquidation documents for accuracy and authenticity
  • Capture receipts and payments in Excel and maintain accurate daily bank balances
  • Conduct regular and timely bank reconciliations
  • Prepare expenditure reports
  • Perform any other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of a Diploma in Accounting (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) from a recognized institution
  • Experience with donor-funded projects is an added advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Good computer skills, especially in Excel spreadsheets
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and urgency
  • Timely preparation of payments
  • Monitoring bank balances with accuracy
  • Preparing credible project financial reports in formats prescribed by donors and the organisation
