Background information about the job or company
Purpose of the Job: To support the Finance Department by ensuring internal accounting controls are followed and financial records are accurately maintained.
Responsibilities or duties
- Posting payment vouchers and journal entries in Sage Pastel Partner.
- Verifying accuracy and completeness of payment vouchers.
- Collecting outstanding debts from customers (students) and clients.
- Preparing monthly reports for both debtors and payables.
- Writing cheques to suppliers for approved payments.
- Compiling and organizing petty cash receipts for recouping.
- Handling encashment of petty cash cheques.
- Preparing schedules for medical and other statutory deductions.
- Addressing and resolving supplier payment queries.
- Coordinating with the front office to ensure proper posting of bills to respective accounts.
- Conducting monthly stock-taking.
Qualifications or requirements
Experience needed
- Diploma in Financial Accounting with a minimum of four (4) years’ relevant work experience.
