Job Overview
The Accounts Officer will be responsible for managing the accounting records of Naming’azi Farm and preparing accurate financial reports to support sound financial management and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management and Reporting
- Support business planning and performance measurement through budget preparation and periodic financial reporting.
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, invoice coding, account analysis, reconciliations, and closing of books.
- Prepare monthly and annual financial reports, including:
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Income statement analysis
- Budget variance reports
- Maintain the fixed assets register and other financial records.
Accounts Receivable and Compliance
- Manage the timely collection of outstanding debtor balances and implement the organisation’s credit policy.
- Resolve client account queries and prepare debtor reports.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns and compliance reports, including:
- TEVET Levy
- Value Added Tax (VAT)
- Pay As You Earn (PAYE)
- Withholding Tax (WHT)
- Fringe Benefit Tax (FBT)
- Other regulatory requirements
Audit and Business Support
- Assist external auditors by preparing schedules, supporting documentation, and responding to audit queries.
- Prepare and analyse financial management reports and business performance tools for various departments.
Qualifications and Skills
Applicants should possess:
- Diploma in Accountancy.
- ACCA qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years experience in financial reporting and business performance analysis.
- Strong background in account analysis and reconciliations.
- Sound knowledge of financial management and internal controls.
- Experience in debt collection and accounts receivable management.
- Experience using SAGE or another accounting software package is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good Christian values.
- Applicants should be between 25 and 45 years of age.
