Overview

Are you detail-oriented, trustworthy, and passionate about financial management and accountability? We are seeking a qualified Accounts Officer to support effective financial operations and ensure accuracy, compliance, and transparency in all accounting processes.

Position: Accounts Officer

Location: Nkhotakota

Reporting To: Finance Officer

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and accounting systems
  • Prepare payment vouchers, receipts, and manage petty cash
  • Process invoices, payments, and bank transactions
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
  • Support budget preparation and financial reporting
  • Ensure compliance with organisational financial policies and donor requirements
  • Assist during audits and provide required financial documentation
  • Manage statutory deductions and ensure timely remittances

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant accounting experience
  • Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial controls

  • High level of integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
