OVERVIEW

Mulanje Mission Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated candidates for the position of Agribusiness Officer under its Sustainable Livelihoods Programme.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead business development for honey, beeswax, chilli and dried fruit enterprises.
  • Develop business plans, pricing strategies and profitability analyses.
  • Build and manage supplier networks and supply agreements.
  • Oversee production, processing, stock control and procurement.
  • Develop and enforce SOPs, food hygiene and quality standards.
  • Lead compliance and certification processes with the Malawi Bureau of Standards.
  • Support product development, packaging, labelling, sales and marketing.
  • Maintain digital records and prepare regular production and performance reports.
  • Train staff, producer groups and suppliers.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Applicants should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Development Economics, Business Administration or a related field.
  • Preferably 3 years’ relevant experience in agribusiness, value chains or food processing.
  • Experience in commercial and financial management.
  • Experience in supply chain management or procurement.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, food safety and MBS compliance.
  • Strong digital record-keeping and MS Excel skills.
  • Good communication skills in English and Chichewa.
