JOB DETAILS:

Simuka Afri-Learn Organization is seeking passionate and motivated final-year Teacher-Training students who are expected to complete their Bachelor’s Degree in Education in 2027 to join its Online Secondary School as Volunteer Tutors.

Successful candidates will gain practical teaching experience through the organization's ongoing online tutoring programme. Strong-performing volunteers may subsequently be considered for full-time teaching opportunities at the organization's physical school in Zomba, which is scheduled to open in the 2027/2028 academic year.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and well-structured online lessons to secondary school learners.
• Prepare lesson plans, learning materials, assignments, and assessments.
• Support learners in understanding subject concepts and completing academic work.
• Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Encourage active participation and maintain a positive virtual classroom environment.
• Communicate effectively with learners and the programme team.
• Use digital teaching platforms and other online learning tools effectively.
• Participate in tutor meetings, training, and other programme activities.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be a final-year Teacher-Training student pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Education.
• Expected to complete the degree in 2027.
• Strong knowledge of the relevant teaching subject(s).
• Passion for teaching and supporting learners.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable using computers and online learning platforms.
• Self-motivated, reliable, organized, and able to work independently.
• Commitment to making quality secondary education accessible to learners.

Opportunity for Future Employment

This volunteer opportunity provides candidates with practical teaching experience and an opportunity to demonstrate their teaching abilities. Successful volunteers may be considered for full-time teaching positions at Simuka Afri-Learn Organization's physical institution in Zomba when it opens for the 2027/2028 academic year.
