Agriculture & Geography
The teacher is responsible for teaching practical agricultural skills and geographical knowledge.
Agriculture Component:
- Crop Production: Teach principles of crop cultivation, including soil preparation, planting, weeding, pest control, and harvesting.
- Animal Husbandry: Cover livestock management (poultry, cattle, goats, pigs), including feeding, breeding, and disease control.
- Soil Science: Teach soil types, soil fertility, soil conservation, and sustainable farming practices.
- Farm Management: Introduce record-keeping, farm planning, and marketing of agricultural produce.
- Practical Skills: Conduct hands-on farming activities on the school farm.
Geography Component:
- Physical Geography: Teach landforms, climate, weather patterns, drainage systems, and ecosystems.
- Human Geography: Cover population distribution, settlement patterns, agriculture, and economic activities.
- Map Work: Develop map reading and interpretation skills, including grid references, scale, and symbols.
- Environmental Issues: Teach environmental conservation, climate change, deforestation, and sustainable resource management.
General Teaching Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons, including practical fieldwork and demonstrations.
- Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress.
