Overview
Are you passionate about sustainable agriculture, nutrition, and community development? We are seeking a committed Agriculture and Nutrition Field Officer to support the implementation of agriculture and nutrition interventions at community level.
Position: Agriculture and Nutrition Field Officer
Location: Phalombe
Reporting To: District Project Officer
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor agriculture and nutrition activities at community level
- Provide extension support on climate-smart agriculture and nutrition-sensitive farming
- Train farmers and community groups on improved farming practices, food diversification, and nutrition
- Support the establishment and management of backyard gardens and livestock initiatives
- Promote household nutrition, food preparation, and dietary diversity
- Collect field data, prepare reports, and document success stories
- Work closely with community leaders, extension workers, and project partners
- Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) activities
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Nutrition, Food Security, or a related field
- At least 2–3 years’ experience in agriculture and/or nutrition programming
- Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture and nutrition-sensitive approaches
- Experience working with rural communities and farmer groups
- Possession of a valid motorbike licence will be an added advantage
