OVERVIEW
Lilongwe Handling Company Limited (LIHACO) is a wholly Malawi Government owned commercial entity established in 2000. The core business of the company is to provide to provide passenger, ramp and cargo handling services to national and international airlines, travel & tour and lounge services to passengers traveling in and out of Malawi Airports. The Company is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position at the Head Office, Kamuzu International Airport.
Post: Assistant Accountant (LH6)
Responsible to: Management Accountant
Responsible for: Accounts Assistant
Main Responsibilities:
- Raising invoices
- Receipting and depositing cash and cheques
- Posting receipts in the accounting system
- Preparing and posting journals
- Reconciling concession invoices, debtors accounts, staff Loans and withholding tax receivable accounts
- Following up outstanding debts and withholding tax certificates
- Compiling revenue returns for determination of concession fees
- Submitting statements to debtors
- Filing accounting documents
- Preparing Audit schedules for external auditors
- Ensure that resources are available for all safety and security operations
Education Qualification
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in accounting obtained from an institution accredited by NCHE.
Work Experience
- Minimum of three years in accounting and finance roles.
Abilities and Skills
- SAGE 300
- Ms. Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Attention to Detail
- Analytical Skills
