General Description of the Role
To support the Operations Manager in day‑to‑day tea production operations and ensuring consistent manufacture of high‑quality teas. The role oversees leaf intake, withering, CTC/Orthodox processing, drying, sorting, packing, quality compliance, hygiene, safety, and efficient utilization of resources. It ensures factory performance meets set targets for quality, yield, cost, and safety.
Some of the Key requirements
- Manage day‑to‑day operations of the factory and ssupport tea processing from leaf reception to packing.
- Monitor and control quality, yields & efficiencies.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP/ISO/FSSC, Rainforest Alliance, and other certification standards.
- Oversee hygiene, safety & environmental standards
- Supervise and train production staff
- Prepare production & quality reports
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Key prerequisites
- Degree in Agriculture, Food Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in tea manufacturing or similar agro‑processing environment.
- Knowledge of both CTC and/or Orthodox tea processing.
- Training in food safety or quality systems (HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC) is an added advantage.
- Computer literacy & strong leadership skills
- Be ready to work odd hours including
- Self‑motivated, enthusiastic, and willing to take on responsibility.
- Must provide at least three traceable referees.
