The company is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Assistant Finance Manager.
The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing monthly management accounts and annual financial statements within set deadlines.
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, including monthly analysis of actual against budget/forecast and providing commentary on variances and discrepancies.
- Developing and maintaining financial models and interactive dashboards (using e.g. Power BI) for reporting and tracking of KPIs for senior management.
- Ensuring compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, tax and other regulations, including tax filings and coordination of audits.
- Overseeing foreign purchases (imports), which includes the processing of orders, tracking of imported items, duty payments, item costings, making foreign payments, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and documentation, and preparing monthly foreign supplier reconciliations.
- Supervising and managing the daily operations of the finance department and coordinating the finance team for efficient monthly close and timely reconciliations of general ledger balances.
- Managing weekly and monthly cash flow reporting, cashflow projections and payables.
- Training, mentoring and supervising the finance team on daily accounting tasks and technical skills.
- Reviewing finance systems and procedures to identify and implement process changes that enhance operational and financial efficiencies, productivity and overall business performance.
Qualifications and Attributes
Applicants must have the following qualifications and attributes:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Financial Management or any finance discipline.
- Full membership with ACCA and ICAM (or similar professional body).
- Post professional qualification experience of at least 5 years in a similar senior level position.
- Good knowledge of International Accounting Standards (IFRSs).
- Proficiency in ERP accounting software (e.g. iScala, SAP, Sage).
- Advanced Excel, Power BI, Word and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills (including dashboards).
- Strong leadership, organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
