ABOUT THE ROLE
Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST) is Malawi's leading public health supply chain institution, responsible for procuring, warehousing, and distributing quality medicines and medical supplies to all public health facilities nationwide.
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Assistant Human Resource Officer to support the HR Section in implementing policies, procedures, and programmes that ensure efficient delivery of human resource services across the Trust.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.
- Membership of a relevant professional body is required.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a Human Resource environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of Human Resource Management Information Systems (HRMIS) and ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Malawi labour laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, and administrative skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in recruitment and selection processes, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Support induction and orientation programmes for newly recruited staff.
- Maintain and update employee records and Human Resource databases.
- Assist in the administration of employee benefits and staff welfare programmes.
- Support coordination of training and staff development activities.
- Assist in preparing Human Resource reports, including attendance, leave, and staff turnover reports.
- Support employee relations initiatives and maintain effective communication channels with staff.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with labour laws and CMST Human Resource policies.
- Support performance management, disciplinary processes, and staff meetings.
- Provide administrative and clerical support to the Human Resource Section.
- Monitor leave utilisation and absenteeism records.
