Purpose
The successful candidate will be expected to assist in strategizing and negotiating with suppliers and vendors to acquire most cost-effective deals and reduce procurement expenses. The position is tenable in Lilongwe
Key Functions
- To assist in developing and implementing procurement policies and procedures that are inventive and cost-effective.
- Analyze costs, negotiate contract details, and offer strategies and solutions for better management of costs on supplies and services.
- Ensure full compliance of procurement activities with Public Procurement and Asset Disposal (PPDA) requirements, Financial Rules and Regulations (FRR) and relevant procurement regulations.
- To help in managing and monitor all transactional procurement processes for the Trust.
- Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
- Process documentation for importation of goods and arrange for customs clearance of imported goods.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual procurement plans and progress reports as required
- To assist in managing current needs and strategize with Heads of Departments and suppliers to ensure the Trust’s future needs will be seamlessly met.
Qualifications and Experience
- Malawi Schools Certificate of Education.
- Professional CIPS Diploma from a recognized institution.
- Three years of work experience in procurement and supply chain management
- Proficient in use of computers and computer software relevant to the position.
