OVERVIEW

The Malawi School of Government (MSG) is a unique higher education Statutory Corporation established under the Malawi School of Government Act No. 33 of 2022.

MSG invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and results-oriented individuals to fill the following position:

POSITION: ASSISTANT PROCUREMENT AND DISPOSAL OFFICER

Grade: SG9

Duty Station: Mpemba Campus

Reporting to: Procurement and Disposal Officer

Job Purpose:

To support efficient procurement and disposal of assets in compliance with the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act.

Key Duties:

  • Compile and process internal purchase requisitions
  • Source quotations and prepare comparative evaluation schedules
  • Facilitate procurement of goods, works and services per procurement laws
  • Prepare LPOs and other procurement documentation
  • Follow up with suppliers on timely delivery
  • Support asset disposal processes and maintain procurement records

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supply, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Logistics Management or related field (NCHE accredited)
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant post-qualification experience
  • Registration with Malawi Institute of Procurement and Supply (MIPS) or other recognized body

Competencies:

Sound knowledge of Public Procurement Act, analytical & negotiation skills, high integrity & accountability, good records management, proficiency in MS Office and e-procurement systems.
