Background

EL-SHADDAIH Christian Academy International School is an institution duly registered, approved and recognized by the Government of Malawi through the Ministry of Education and provides Nursery, primary and secondary school education using the Malawi curriculum.

Responsibilities

Bible Knowledge (Major) Responsibilities

  • Teach Biblical Knowledge: Cover the content, themes, and teachings of the Old and New Testaments.
  • Scripture Analysis: Guide students in reading and interpreting Bible passages, understanding their historical and cultural context.
  • Values and Ethics: Use biblical teachings to discuss moral and ethical issues, fostering character formation.
  • Comparisons: Compare biblical teachings with other worldviews and belief systems.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare students for MSCE or Cambridge examinations in Bible Knowledge/Religious Studies.

History (Secondary) Responsibilities

  • Teach Malawian History: Cover pre-colonial societies, the slave trade, colonial rule, the independence movement, and post-independence developments.
  • Teach African History: Cover major African empires, the impact of European colonization, and the rise of nationalism across the continent.
  • Teach World History: Teach major world events (World Wars, the Cold War) and their impact on Africa and Malawi.
  • Historical Skills: Guide students in analyzing primary and secondary sources, interpreting events, and understanding cause and effect.
  • Exam Preparation: Prepare students for MSCE or Cambridge examinations in History.

General Teaching Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons catering to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Set, administer, and mark tests, assignments, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive, orderly, and safe classroom environment.
  • Maintain accurate student records and communicate with parents/guardians on student progress.
