Responsibilities

The Biology Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging life sciences lessons, conducting laboratory work, and preparing students for examinations.

Qualifications

a) Diploma/Degree in Education or related field

b) At least 3 years of teaching experience

c) Energetic retirees are encouraged to apply

• Plan and Deliver Lessons: Prepare and teach comprehensive Biology lessons covering topics such as cell biology, genetics, ecology, human anatomy, and physiology, aligned with the national or Cambridge curriculum.
• Conduct Laboratory Work: Plan, set up, and supervise hands-on practical experiments and dissections to reinforce theoretical concepts and develop students' scientific inquiry skills.
• Teach Scientific Method: Guide students in forming hypotheses, conducting experiments, collecting data, and drawing conclusions based on evidence.
• Ensure Lab Safety: Enforce strict safety protocols in the laboratory, including proper handling of chemicals, biological specimens, and equipment.
• Assess Student Progress: Set, mark, and provide constructive feedback on tests, assignments, and practical reports, tracking student performance and preparing them for external examinations (e.g., MSCE, Cambridge).
• Resource Management: Maintain laboratory equipment, manage inventory of chemicals and specimens, and request supplies as needed.
• Promote Environmental Awareness: Foster an appreciation for biodiversity, environmental conservation, and the relevance of Biology in everyday life.
