ABOUT THE ROLE
Sico Medquip Limited is seeking two motivated and detail-oriented Biomedical Engineering Interns to join their engineering team. This internship offers hands-on experience in managing, maintaining, and supporting critical hospital technology, oxygen delivery systems, and medical devices in a clinical environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to gain practical experience in the biomedical engineering field.
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering (or relevant degree in Medical Electronics/Clinical Engineering)
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical equipment installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting principles
- Specialized Awareness: Familiarity with oxygen delivery systems (piped medical gas systems, oxygen plants/cylinders) and general hospital equipment
- Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and good verbal/written communication skills
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Installation & Commissioning: Assist in unboxing, setup, testing, and commissioning of new medical equipment according to safety standards
- Preventive Maintenance (PM): Perform routine inspection, cleaning, calibration, and functional testing on hospital equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose faults, perform basic repairs, and restore malfunctioning medical devices safely and promptly
- Oxygen Systems Management: Assist in monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting medical oxygen generation plants, manifolds, cylinders, and piping systems
- Documentation & Asset Management: Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records for biomedical assets
- Technical Support: Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure correct usage and safety protocols for medical devices
