Background

Mphunzitsi SACCO is an affiliate of Malawi Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives with a membership of over 17,940. The SACCO draws its membership from Civil Servants and the private sector.

An Opportunity has risen for SACCO members to take up positions as Board of Directors. They will play an oversight role, collectively in providing assurance to the members at large on SACCO's operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

BOARD OF DIRECTORS (3 POSITIONS)

• Must have been a SACCO member for at least 5 years
• Must have a shareholding of at least MK500,000 by 21st January, 2025
• Must have a deposit balance of at least MK100,000 for the past 3 months
• Must be honest, transparent, corrupt free, without criminal record and should not expect special favours from the SACCO by virtue of position
• Must be of a sober mind
• Must be selfless i.e those prioritizing others interest above theirs

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of MSCE
• Those with Diplomas and Degrees will have an added advantage
• Lady members are encouraged to apply

NOTE:

• Must attach Curriculum Vitae (CV).
• The certificates should be authenticated by a lawyer, or the office of the DC.
• All potential candidates who meet the above qualifications will be subjected to a fit and proper test by the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
• All applicants should disclose their employment number in their applications
• Those qualified and short-listed shall stand for elections as per SACCO by-Laws.
