Background

Essie Cleaners is a growing social enterprise delivering waste management, cleaning, landscaping, and environmental solutions. As part of our strategic growth plan (2026–2030), we seek a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Officer to strengthen revenue growth, partnerships, and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities (government, NGOs, corporates, SMEs)
  • Prepare and submit bids, proposals, and quotations
  • Manage client relationships and contract follow-ups
  • Support partnerships, sponsorships, and strategic collaborations
  • Track sales pipelines and report on business development KPIs
  • Represent Essie Cleaners at meetings, field visits, and stakeholder engagements
  • Support marketing initiatives and brand visibility activities

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Public Administration, or related field
  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or partnerships
  • Experience working with service contracts, NGOs, or government procurement is an added advantage

Mandatory Requirement

Valid driving licence (motor vehicle)

The role involves frequent field visits, client meetings, and operational follow-ups.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong proposal writing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets
  • Basic financial literacy and understanding of costing
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and email communication
