Background

Under the overall guidance of the Chief of Child Protection, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the development, planning, management, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the child protection programme in the country. This includes strengthening national and sub-national child protection systems, promoting child rights, and responding to child protection concerns.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the development and implementation of child protection policies and strategies.
• Provide technical assistance to government counterparts and partners in child protection programming.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of child protection interventions.
• Contribute to resource mobilization and proposal development for child protection initiatives.
• Strengthen partnerships with government, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.
• Document and share lessons learned and best practices in child protection.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

• Advanced university degree in social sciences, law, international relations, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in child protection, social work, or a related area.
• Proven experience in programme management, policy analysis, and advocacy.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of local languages is an asset.
