Background
Islamic Health Association of Malawi (IHAM) is a reputable local NGO committed to improving healthcare delivery in Malawi through inclusive, ethical, and faith-inspired service provision. With 23 health facilities across the Southern and Central Regions, IHAM continues to strengthen its financial management systems to support quality healthcare services.
IHAM invites applications from qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Cashier.
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate in Financial Accounting or Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Practical knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent customer service skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Receive payments from patients and clients through approved channels
- Issue official receipts using the hospital financial system
- Maintain accurate daily transaction records and reconciliations
- Ensure cash and electronic collections are secure and properly accounted for
- Submit daily collections and reconciliation reports to the Accountant
- Respond to patient billing and receipt inquiries professionally
- Safeguard cash at all times
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or suspected fraud promptly
- Support audits and financial reviews
- Perform any other duties assigned by management
