Background

The Malawi Enterprise Development Fund Limited (MEDF) is a government-owned microfinance institution whose mission is to economically empower ordinary and underserved Malawians, particularly women, youth, and persons with disabilities, through the provision of quality, affordable, and sustainable microfinance services.

Reporting to: Finance Manager (MF3)

Job Purpose

Perform reconciliation of bank accounts, loans, and general ledger balances

Investigating and resolve discrepancies

Prepare reconciliation reports

Ensure compliance with financial policies and internal controls

Support audits and provide required documentation

Supervise finance staff handling reconciliations

Support preparation of financial statements and reports

Recommend improvements in reconciliation systems and procedures

Description

To ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of financial records, maintain data integrity, and support effective financial reporting

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance obtained from an NCHE accredited institution
  • Master’s degree in accounting or finance obtained from an NCHE accredited institution
  • ACCA or CIMA partly qualified will be an added advantage

Experience

  • Three (3) years of work experience in financial reconciliation
  • Perform reconciliation of bank accounts, loans, and general ledger balances
