Pothawira Health Center
Pothawira Health Center is located in the Salima District, approximately two miles from Msangu Market along the Senga Bay Road. The facility comprises a general outpatient clinic, a dedicated birthing unit, and a newly established state-of-the-art surgical center. Together, these services provide comprehensive, patient-centered care across a full spectrum of medical and surgical needs.
Our surgical center is designed to deliver exceptional peri-operative care in an environment that is safe, efficient, and compassionate. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general and bariatric surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and laparoscopic cases
- Manage preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care
- Conduct hospital rounds and oversee inpatient surgical patients, including bariatric cases
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for surgical patients
- Monitor postoperative progress and manage complications as needed
- Collaborate with Anesthetics, Surgical Assistants, and hospital staff to ensure continuity of care
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EMR system
- Ensure compliance with all hospital protocols, Medical Council of Malawi regulations, and surgical standards
Requirements for qualification.
- Bachelor of Science in General surgery from a recognised institution
- Minimum of 2 years working experience in a busy setting
- In good standing with the Medical Council of Malawi.
