Background

Ekwendeni College of Health Sciences (ECOHS), established in 1946 is a constituent college of the University of Livingstonia and a member institution of the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM). The College is owned by the CAP Synod of Livingstonia and is committed to the training of competent healthcare professionals grounded in Christian values and guided by strong professional ethics. The College aims at providing a conducive teaching and learning environment that promotes excellence in health sciences education and contributes to the strengthening of Malawi’s healthcare system. To achieve this goal, ECOHS continuously strives to strengthen its academic and administrative structures in order to support effective service delivery and institutional growth.

Therefore, the College wishes to fill the existing gap and invites suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant post.

Position: College Registrar

Grade: G (Government Scale)

Reports to: College Principal

Contract Terms : Full time

Duties and responsibilities:

Academic

  • Manage student registration processes.
  • Provide support in the development, implementation and review of academic policies.
  • Maintain and update students’ academic records, including grades and transcripts
  • Coordinate classrooms allocation
  • Ensure compliance with academic policies and regulations
  • Assist in the planning and conducting graduation ceremonies

Administration

  • Facilitate the development and implementation of all administrative policies.
  • Ensure safety and regular maintenance of all College assets.
  • Maintain an updated asset register.
  • Prepare accurate monthly Admin reports

Human Resource

  • Provide support in the development, implementation and review of HR policies
  • Manage the staff establishment
  • Coordinate staff recruitment process in line with the recruitment policy
  • Facilitate staff training and development
  • Facilitate staff performance management.
  • Manage employee relations.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management/ Public Administration/ Business Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in either Human Resources Management or Public Administration/ Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience.
  • Committed Christian
  • Manage student registration processes.
  • Provide support in the development, implementation and review of academic policies.
