Lilongwe Catholic Health Commission (LLCHC) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and motivated individuals to fill 38 Community Case Worker (CCW) positions under the Ana ndi Achinyamata Patsogolo (ANAPA) Activity, a US Government-funded project.

The project focuses on providing life-saving HIV services for Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC), children and adolescents living with HIV, HIV-exposed infants, pregnant and breastfeeding women, and their caregivers. Successful candidates will support health and social service delivery to improve health outcomes across Lilongwe District.

Requirements/Qualifications

Applicants must have:

• Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
• At least 2 years' experience working as a Community Case Worker or implementing community-based child protection, HIV, health or socio-economic interventions for OVC, CAFYW and caregivers.
• Training in HIV Sensitive Case Management and Positive Parenting (added advantage).
• Good written and spoken English.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both Chichewa and English.
• Good understanding of local community dynamics and cultural sensitivity.
• Strong facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve results.
• Must be a Malawian citizen living in or originating from the area being applied for.
• Must be 18–40 years old.
• Ability to work independently and within community teams.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

• Build trusting relationships with children, adolescents and caregivers.
• Conduct HIV risk assessments during household visits.
• Refer eligible clients for HIV testing and ART initiation.
• Provide adherence counselling and support viral load monitoring.
• Conduct home visits and follow-up for treatment interruption cases.
• Carry out nutrition assessments and facilitate nutrition support.
• Support early infant HIV diagnosis.
• Support PMTCT services for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
• Conduct household assessments for mother-baby pairs.
• Link clients to community and facility-based support groups.
• Coordinate case management for children and adolescents living with HIV.
• Conduct counselling, mentoring, psychosocial support and health education.
• Facilitate referrals to health and socio-economic services.
• Monitor beneficiary progress and graduation from the programme.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Participate in supervision visits and data quality activities.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Ministry of Health, Department of Social Welfare or ANAPA Leadership.
