Background

Vanguard Pension Services Company Limited (VPSC) is a subsidiary of Vanguard Life Assurance Company Limited, established in 2014 following the separation of the life insurance and pension service business units in Malawi. This was in pursuant to the Reserve Bank of Malawi’s Directive on the licensing and registration of pension entities under the Financial Services Act, 2010. The Company is dedicated to providing financial security and long-term investment solutions to organizations, groups and individuals through pension funds administration and other related financial services. The Company also serves as a Corporate Trustee for the Vanguard Unrestricted Pension Fund, which accommodates employer-sponsored restricted pension schemes.

Position : Corporate Financial Advisor (CFA)

Reporting to : Group Business Marketing Manager

Subordinate : None

Location : Blantyre, Lilongwe, Mzuzu, Zomba, and Karonga

Type of Contract : Agency

Remuneration Mode : Commission Based

Position Overview

Corporate Financial Adviser’s role is to plan and carry out direct marketing and sales of pension and life insurance products which Vanguard Pension Services Company offers to corporates, organisations and individuals. The position requires a strong work ethic and great communication skills during face to face and over the phone sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop leads and sales opportunities and follow through with defined sales plan.
  • Direct selling of Group Business products and services as per agreed budgets, product mix and time scales.
  • Keep Managers aware of the status of key accounts through weekly sales reports.
  • Conduct structured visits to key accounts to provide after-sales support.
  • Address customer inquiries and provide technical proposals in a prompt and accurate manner.
  • Participate in Product Development in order to come up with products which will meet the changing Environment and Market Needs.
  • Promote image of Vanguard Pension Services Company through information dissemination and communication that fosters good will and best practices.
  • Participate in sales meetings, conventions and trade shows as directed by Managers.
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and maintaining personal networks.

Personnel Profile

  • Mature, well groomed, credible and team player.
  • Results driven and dedicated to accomplishing company goals.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good command of business communication including presentations.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Diploma in Marketing, Business Studies, Finance, or Insurance.
  • Minimum 5 years dealing with service or product sales.
  • Familiarity with life insurance and pension products, processes and legislation are required .
  • Microsoft Office experience required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
