Overview

Namuleri Limited is a Malawian enterprise with interests in clean energy and microfinance. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a qualified and motivated professional to join our team in Lilongwe in the following role:

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee credit risk management, loan appraisal, and approval processes
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance, including PAR, arrears, and default trends
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve portfolio quality and recovery rates
  • Review and update credit policies, procedures, and lending guidelines
  • Supervise and mentor Loan Officers and credit staff
  • Set credit targets and monitor team performance and productivity
  • Prepare credit and portfolio performance reports for management
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls
  • Support audits and maintain proper credit documentation
  • Advise management on credit strategy, pricing, and risk exposure

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, Economics, or related field
  • Professional certification in credit, risk management, or finance is an added advantage

Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience in credit management, banking, or microfinance
  • Strong understanding of lending procedures and credit risk management
  • Experience with loan management or accounting systems
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills (Excel proficiency required)
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and decision-making skills
  • High integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail
