Job Overview

The Drop-in Centre Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering comprehensive clinical services to key populations at a Drop-in Centre, in line with national guidelines and organisational standards.

The Role

Reporting to the District Coordinator, the Drop-in Centre Manager will provide HIV-related clinical services, oversee daily operations of the centre, and ensure high-quality, confidential, and client-centred care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective day-to-day operations of the Drop-in Centre
  • Provide HIV services including HTS, Oral and Injectable PrEP, STI screening and treatment, ART, cervical cancer screening, and risk-reduction counselling
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat common health conditions in line with Ministry of Health and Medical/Nursing Council policies
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, reports, and commodity consumption data
  • Ensure timely referrals and follow-up for clients accessing ART and other services
  • Build strong working relationships with nearby health facilities, Peer Educators, and Peer Navigators
  • Support outreach clinics at hotspot level where necessary
  • Ensure quality data collection, reporting, and use of online data systems
  • Develop and implement work plans and submit reports on time

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, or Clinical Medicine from a recognised institution
  • Registered with the Nursing or Medical Council of Malawi
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ clinical experience
  • At least two (2) years’ experience working with key populations
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and Chichewa
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Experience with online data collection tools (ODK, Kobo, SurveyCTO)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Training in Long-Acting Injectable Cabotegravir (CAB-LA) is an added advantage
