Founded in 1987, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a global organization providing cutting-edge medicine and advocacy to over 2,900,000 patients in 50 countries. In Malawi, AHF is working in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS) to strengthen access to quality treatment for HIV/AIDS tuberculosis (TB), and sexually transmitted infections (STls). AHF Malawi is providing these services in 38 hard-to-reach health facilities in Dedza, Lilongwe, Ntcheu, Nkhotakota, Chikwawa, and Nsanje Districts with expansion to Chiradzulu and Thyolo planned in 2026.Local employment trends

Position Summary
The Data Clerk will be based at Chinsapo Health Centre and support data management issues. The role focuses on accurate data collection, entry, validation, and timely reporting in line with AHF and national standards. The incumbent will maintain data quality, support use of M&E tools and EMRs, track client outcomes (HIV testing, linkage and retention), and contribute to data review processes to inform program performance and decision-making.
Qualifications, experience, and other attributes
- Diploma in Information Technology, Information Management, Data Processing, or related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in data entry/data management, preferably in HIV/AIDS or public health programs.
- Certification/training in Data Management or Information Processing is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word) for data entry, management, and basic analysis.
- Demonstrated ≥99% data accuracy with strong attention to detail and adherence to data quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of HIV program indicators (HTS, ART, Viral Load, Retention) and familiarity with EMRs, HMIS, or DHIS2 is an added advantage.
- Strong records management skills for both electronic and paper-based systems.
- High integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive health data.
- Ability to meet reporting deadlines and support routine facility-level data management tasks.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and secure HIV program records in compliance with data protection standards.
- Perform routine data management tasks (data entry, filing, archiving, retrieval) for both electronic and paper-based systems.
- Ensure availability and proper utilization of standardized data collection and reporting tools at facility level.
- Compile and submit weekly, monthly, quarterly, and benchmark reports in line with reporting timelines.
- Accurately capture and update data in EMRs, web-based systems, and Excel databases to support program reporting.
- Support tracking of missed appointments and defaulters to strengthen client tracing and retention.
- Monitor HIV-positive clients by documenting referrals and tracking linkage and treatment outcomes.
- Provide technical support to supported facilities on data collection, entry, and reporting processes.
- Participate in data review meetings, contributing to data verification and continuous quality improvement.
