DENTISTS (2)

Responsibilities or duties

  • Diagnose and treat oral diseases, injuries, and abnormalities
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including preventative care and restorative procedures
  • Communicate effectively with patients to ensure they understand their treatment options and feel comfortable with the care they receive
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in dental technology and techniques
  • Perform dental exams and provide treatment plans for patients
  • Administer local anaesthesia and perform dental procedures such as fillings, extractions (including surgical extractions), and root canal therapy.
  • Dental prosthetics, such as bridges, crowns and dentures
  • Teeth-whitening treatments
  • Orthodontic treatment and other complex procedures
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with all dental regulations and standards
  • Continuously educate oneself on new dental techniques and technologies

Qualifications or requirements 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) or DDS or DMD or equivalent from recognised institutions of higher learning
  • Valid practicing license from medical council of Malawi.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and able to work as a team
  • Commitment to patient comfort and quality care
  • Must be a self -starter, mature and able to cope with pressure of work
  • Must have excellent communication skills
