Position Summary
Job title: Driver / Office Assistant
Location: Lilongwe, with travel nationwide as required
Hours: 48 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, 08:00–17:00; occasional authorised overtime and rest-day/public-holiday driving where operationally necessary
Terms: Full-time, 1 year contract subject to renewal; six-month probation. Competitive salary plus registered pension, medical aid, and statutory benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the Managing Partner and other authorised personnel safely and punctually to business destinations within Malawi.
- Maintain the assigned vehicle: daily pre-trip checks, regular cleaning, adherence to the service schedule, and accurate trip logs.
- Deliver and collect documents to and from clients, banks, government offices, courier services and the post office.
- Undertake authorised banking transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and cheque submissions.
- Support office operations: opening and securing the premises, photocopying, basic filing, and reception cover when required.
- Carry out reasonable errands and ad hoc duties as directed, with honesty and discretion.
Minimum Requirements
- Malawian citizen holding a valid National Identity card.
- Valid Malawi driving licence (Class B minimum; Class C an added advantage), with a clean, unendorsed record and no current suspension or traffic-rule violations.
- At least four (4) years’ proven professional driving experience, supported by 2 reference letter(s), with a demonstrable safe-driving record and sound knowledge of Lilongwe roads and major routes nationwide.
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent; literacy in English and Chichewa, with sound verbal and basic written communication skills.
- Physically fit and able to sustain the demands of long-distance and full-day driving, loading and delivering documents and parcels, and general office support duties.
- Able to keep accurate vehicle logs, fuel receipts, delivery records and basic office records.
- Available to work approved overtime and odd hours, and to travel within and outside Malawi when operationally required.
- Added advantage: a valid defensive-driving certificate, and/or a PSV or chauffeur’s certificate.

- Reliable, punctual, presentable and professional in appearance and conduct.
