Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing safe, efficient, and professional transportation of staff, products, and project materials
  • Supporting field activities, trainings, stakeholder engagements, and operational logistics
  • Ensuring that company vehicles are clean, roadworthy, and properly maintained at all times
  • Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting faults or maintenance needs promptly
  • Maintaining accurate vehicle logbooks, fuel records, and travel schedules
  • Strictly observing road safety regulations and organizational transport policies
  • Practicing and promoting defensive driving principles to ensure passenger and vehicle safety
  • Assisting with deliveries, errands, and other administrative support duties when assigned

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Minimum of Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE)
  • Valid Malawi Driver’s License (Class C1 or higher preferred)
  • Minimum of three (3) years proven driving experience
  • Certificate in Defensive Driving is mandatory
  • Good knowledge of routes within Lilongwe and other districts in Malawi
  • Strong understanding of road safety practices and vehicle care
  • Honest, reliable, responsible, and professional
  • Ability to work flexible hours and travel when required

The ideal candidate should be:

  • Safety-conscious and disciplined
  • Punctual and dependable
  • Respectful and professional in conduct
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physically fit and ready for field assignments
