Position Context

Reporting to the Operations Officer, the Driver provides administrative support to all the departments and ensures that the vehicles are roadworthy and safe at all times.

Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Driving the vehicle to point of delivery using the most efficient possible route.
  • Maintaining the vehicles inside and outside in a clean, organized and safe condition.
  • Ensuring that delivery notes are signed by the person receiving the goods.
  • Following standard road regulation and rules at all times to avoid accidents.
  • Adhering to Hospitals’ operating policies and procedures.
  • Making sure that log books are properly filled and signed by the responsible officer.
  • Reporting any vehicles’ faults to the authorities timely and accordingly.
  • Making sure that both general and preventive maintenance measures are being performed on the vehicles.
  • Making sure that all vehicles’ documents are valid at all times.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Malawi school Leaving Certificate (MSCE)
  • Clean, Valid Driving Licence Class P
  • Basic Knowledge and experience in mechanics will be added advantage
  • At least two years’ experience

Requisite knowledge, skills and attitudes

  • Sober minded
  • Smart and presentable
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and emotionally stability
  • A team player and an innovative individual
  • Ability to work independently
  • High sense of integrity and honesty
  • Reliability and confidentiality
