Economic Research Internship – Beta Trust
Beta Trust is an investment trust that invests across public equity, private equity, and commercial real estate, with a long-term objective of building a diversified and resilient investment portfolio. We are seeking motivated interns to support our economic research activities across multiple asset classes.
This internship is six months in duration, with a performance review after the first three months. Continuation beyond the review will depend on demonstrated performance and contribution to the Trust’s research activities.
Role Overview
The Economic Research Intern will work closely with the investment team to conduct macroeconomic and sectoral research, analyze economic and market data, and prepare professional reports to support investment and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in macroeconomic research, including analysis of GDP growth, inflation, and interest rates
- Support tracking of fiscal and monetary policy developments and their potential impact on the Trust’s investments
- Help analyze sector- and industry-specific economic trends relevant to investment opportunities
- Assist in maintaining and organizing economic data, reports, and research documentation
- Support preparation of research briefs, economic reports, and presentations for internal review
- Contribute to modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis under guidance from senior analysts
- Participate in discussions and debates about economic events and their impacts on sectoral investment avenues
- Support strategic research projects and ad hoc economic studies as assigned by senior analysts
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary economic and financial information
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree in Economics, Development Economics, Development Studies, Financial Economics, or Econometrics.
Additional qualifications include:
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and research abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Power BI, Tableau, Power Query, or Python
- Demonstrated interest in economic research, markets, and policy analysis
- Ability to work independently with attention to detail
- Self-starter and open-minded
