AREAS OF SPECIALISATION
We are seeking lecturers in the following areas:
Economics Lecturer
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lectures in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and development economics.
- Facilitate student learning through case studies, data analysis, and economic modeling exercises.
- Develop and update course materials to reflect current economic trends, policy changes, and global market dynamics.
- Conduct research in areas such as poverty reduction, fiscal policy, trade, and economic growth, with a focus on Malawi and the African context.
- Participate in community engagement by providing economic analysis and policy advice to local businesses, NGOs, and government agencies.
- Mentor and support students in understanding real-world economic challenges and career pathways in economics.
- Participate in academic and administrative activities, including curriculum reviews and departmental meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Master's degree in a relevant field (PhD is an added advantage).
- Relevant teaching and/or industry experience.
- Strong commitment to academic excellence, student development and research.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic university environment.
