AREAS OF SPECIALISATION

We are seeking lecturers in the following areas:

Economics Lecturer

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality lectures in microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, and development economics.
• Facilitate student learning through case studies, data analysis, and economic modeling exercises.
• Develop and update course materials to reflect current economic trends, policy changes, and global market dynamics.
• Conduct research in areas such as poverty reduction, fiscal policy, trade, and economic growth, with a focus on Malawi and the African context.
• Participate in community engagement by providing economic analysis and policy advice to local businesses, NGOs, and government agencies.
• Mentor and support students in understanding real-world economic challenges and career pathways in economics.
• Participate in academic and administrative activities, including curriculum reviews and departmental meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Master's degree in a relevant field (PhD is an added advantage).
• Relevant teaching and/or industry experience.
• Strong commitment to academic excellence, student development and research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic university environment.
