Lindian Resources Mining Ltd is expanding operations at Kangankunde Mine and as we advance through construction, commissioning, and operations, we are seeking qualified and motivated professionals to join our growing team in the following position:
Environmental Officer
Role Summary
The Environmental Officer will support the implementation of environmental management systems and ensure compliance with environmental legislation, permits, and company standards while minimizing environmental impact across construction and operational activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor the Environmental Management Plan (EMP)
- Conduct environmental inspections, audits, and compliance monitoring
- Support monitoring of air quality, water, noise, dust, and biodiversity
- Manage waste handling, hazardous materials, and spill response processes
- Ensure compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements
- Maintain environmental records, registers, and reporting systems
- Deliver environmental awareness training and inductions
- Support incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
Minimum Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Environmental Science or related discipline
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in environmental management
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, monitoring, and reporting systems
- Experience in mining, construction, or infrastructure projects preferred
General Requirements (All Roles)
- Experience in mining, construction, or industrial environments will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability and prepared to work in a remote site environment with high temperatures.
- Commitment to safety, integrity, and continuous improvement
