Background

Mamaland, a Mota-Engil Group company, is dedicated to the development and maintenance of sustainable systems through a more inclusive approach, with the aim of generating Prosperity for the Planet and for People. The MoRe Project is a large-scale initiative, with an expected duration of 40 years, focused on forest restoration and sustainable development in Malawi. The project aims to restore 555,000 hectares of degraded land through reforestation, agroforestry, and assisted natural regeneration, while promoting the active involvement of local communities. Through this approach, MoRe seeks to generate long-lasting environmental, social, and economic benefits, contributing to ecological resilience and the well-being of populations.

Role description

Responsible for the efficient management of all company equipment and technical resources, ensuring their operational readiness, safety, and proper allocation across departments. Promotes efficiency, cost reduction, and continuity of operations. Acts as the liaison between operations, maintenance, and safety, ensuring equipment availability and performance.

Main responsibilities

Experience and qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field;
  • Minimum of 5-year experience in similar duties;
  • Knowledge of safety and maintenance standards;
  • Ability to lead teams and coordinate operational activities;
  • Strong proactivity, dynamism, and autonomy
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;
  • Planning and organization
  • Proficiency in English is essential;
  • A valid international driving license is preferred;
  • Availability for mobility.
  • Plan, coordinate, and control the use and allocation of equipment across the organization;
  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance is carried out, keeping records and equipment history up to date;
  • Monitor performance, usage, and consumption, proposing measures to optimize costs and operational efficiency;
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and legal requirements applicable to equipment;
  • Manage and coordinate equipment operators or users, monitoring performance, training, and best practices;
  • Strong communication skills

  • Proficiency in English
