Background

Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is seeking an Estate Support Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Manage estate support services (medical, housing, education, community services)
  • Ensure estate maintenance (civils, housing, recreational facilities, water, electricity, wastewater)
  • Align SHERQ requirements and ensure compliance
  • Coordinate Group Enterprise Risk Management process
  • Act as Custodian for Business Continuity Planning (BCP)
  • Establish and manage Emergency Response Management system
  • Coordinate ABF HSE Assurance processes (EY and ERM audits)
  • Manage company properties, social services, maintenance contracts, security & conservancy
  • Ensure minimum standards are accessible on country platforms
  • Oversee talent and performance management
  • Develop business case for capital projects
  • Identify emerging threats
  • Cooperate with civil authorities & emergency responders
  • Promote Illovo policies (SHERQ, Competition Law, Anti-Bribery & Corruption)

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Science
  • SAMTRAC/NEBOSH qualification is an added advantage
  • 7 years management experience (minimum 5 years in business/capital expenditure optimization)
  • Demonstrable track record in similar role
  • Advocacy and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
