Job Summary
The Events Manager at New Era School is responsible for the professional planning, coordination, and delivery of all school events. The role requires a suitably qualified individual with formal training and proven experience in event management to ensure that all events are executed to a high standard, in line with the school’s values, policies, and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and manage all school events including academic, cultural, sporting, and community activities.
- Develop detailed event plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Coordinate with school leadership, staff, students, parents, and external vendors.
- Manage logistics, setup, execution, and post-event breakdown.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and child safeguarding standards.
- Manage event communications and documentation.
- Identify risks and implement contingency plans.
- Evaluate events and provide post-event reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field (mandatory).
- Professional certification in Event Management (preferred).
- Health and Safety and Risk Management training (required or to be obtained upon appointment).
- Valid child protection / background clearance as required by school regulations.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of professional event management experience.
- Experience in an educational or institutional environment is an advantage.
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Budgeting and vendor management skills.
- Professional, proactive, detail-oriented, and flexible.
Working Conditions
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during major school events.
