POSITION: Farm Field Supervisor

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting To: Estate Manager

The Farm Field Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day field operations and ensuring efficient, safe, and productive farm activities.

  • Oversee the cultivation, planting, harvesting, and disposition of crops
  • Coordinate the care, feeding, and breeding of farm animals
  • Prepare and maintain records and reports on farm conditions, machinery, and operational issues
  • Monitor and supervise maintenance programmes for farm facilities, machinery, and equipment
  • Ensure proper safety, hygiene, and sanitary conditions in all farm operations
  • Consult with research staff on soil management, crop strategies, and livestock planning
  • Supervise and manage field staff, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
  • Inspect and review completed work to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
  • Provide daily progress reports to management, highlighting issues and proposed solutions
  • Train and mentor field staff to enhance skills, performance, and productivity
  • Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure tasks are clearly understood and executed
  • Manage farm resources efficiently, ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment
  • Resolve field-related issues and disputes, implementing corrective actions where necessary
  • Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Field Supervisor or in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge of field operations and on-site supervision
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and lead teams effectively
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Degree or Diploma in Agriculture or a related field

  • Good communication skills
  • Analytical skills
