Background

Miral Welfare Foundation is a Christian NGO dedicated to supporting people with disabilities, we are seeking a competent Field Research Consultant for KOICA Disability inclusion Project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Networking & Liaison: Identify key stakeholders and arrange high-level meetings with Malawi government agencies (MACODA, MoGCDSW, etc.), UN agencies (WFP, FAO, UNICEF, etc.), and major INGOs (CBM, World Vision, etc.).
  • Policy & Partnership Research: Analyse the current landscape of disability policies in Malawi and explore potential technical or operational partnership opportunities for the upcoming project.
  • Case Study Collection: Gather and analyse best practices and lessons learned from existing disability-inclusive programs (CBR, Livelihood, Inclusive ECD, etc.) in Malawi.
  • Proposal Data Support: Synthesize research findings into comprehensive English reports to be directly integrated into the KOICA project proposal.

Terms of Employment

Type: Freelance (Project-based consultancy)

Work Style: Flexible/Remote. No fixed office hours; the consultant is expected to manage their own schedule for external meetings and field research. (Office space available upon request).

Duration: [Negotiable] ~ June 2026 (Approx. 3 months).

Remuneration: Competitive, based on experience and qualifications.

Qualification & Experience Required

Education/Experience: University degree in International Development, Social Work, Public Policy, or a related field. Proven experience in international development projects is required.

Preferred Experience: Candidates with experience in World Vision, UN agencies, or other major INGOs are highly preferred. Prior experience in developing grant proposals (KOICA, UN, USAID, etc.) is a significant advantage.

Language Skills: Full professional proficiency in English (Excellent verbal communication and high-quality report writing skills are mandatory).

Mission Alignment: Understanding of and commitment to the values of a Christian-based NGO and disability-inclusive ministry.
