The Finance & Administration Officer will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the effective administration of the Company’s factory operations.

Responsibilities or duties

  • Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare regular financial reports.
  • Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing and payment processing.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and monitor cash flows.
  • Support budgeting, financial forecasting and expenditure control.
  • Manage payroll and maintain relevant employee records.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial and administrative records.
  • Support procurement, inventory control and general factory administration.
  • Coordinate administrative requirements, including office supplies, utilities and service providers.
  • Support internal and external audits and implement appropriate financial controls.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.

Qualifications or requirements 

  • A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
  • A professional accounting qualification, or progress towards one, will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Good understanding of taxation, payroll, budgeting and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Experience needed

  • At least three years of relevant experience in finance and administration, preferably within a manufacturing or agro-processing environment.

  • Both positions are based full-time at the Company’s rice processing factory at Nyungwe in Karonga. Applicants must already be living in Karonga or be willing to relocate.
