About the Opportunity
We seek an experienced Finance & Compliance Consultant to provide interim financial leadership and governance support. This is an urgent, six-month engagement requiring a self-driven professional who can hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities
The successful consultant will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial management and compliance activities, including:
- Leading and coordinating all internal and external audit processes
- Overseeing the financial aspects of company property transactions, including sales and asset management
- Managing all tax obligations, filings, and related advisory matters
- Maintaining and reconciling the balance sheet, ensuring queries are resolved promptly
- Preparing accurate and timely financial reports for management and stakeholders
- Managing investment and disinvestment activities in line with company strategy
- Ensuring compliance with the Registrar of Companies requirements, including filing of statutory returns
- Overseeing all company disbursements and cash management functions
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with professional certification; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Work experience in private sector.
- Experience with international companies.
- Experience in Managerial position overseeing the finance function in a private organization
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial management, audit, or compliance
- Sound knowledge of Malawian tax legislation and corporate statutory requirements
- Demonstrated experience with balance sheet management, financial reporting, and investment oversight
- High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Previous experience in a consultancy or interim role is an added advantage
