Background
Foundation for Civic Education and Social Empowerment (FOCESE) is a registered advocacy and service delivery organization working in rural communities in Balaka and Nsanje districts to engender holistic positive transformation in the lives of the most vulnerable and excluded young people especially adolescent girls and young women including empowering young people particularly adolescent girls and young women to ensure they harness their potential and contribute to nation building economically, socially and politically.
FOCESE wishes to engage the services of an experienced but dynamic Finance Officer to be based in Nsanje district. The incumbent will report directly to the Finance Lead.
Functions and Responsibilities
- Must have a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Accounting or Business Administration and/or completion of second level of a recognized accounting program combined with related financial experience.
- Must have at least two years of experience working as Accountant or Finance Officer at a busy organization.
- Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems in order to ensure complete and accurate records of all moneys.
- Administer the monthly payroll in order to ensure that employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
Experience and Competencies Required
- At least 2 years experience of similar position and task.
- A minimum of a Diploma in Accounting or Business.
- Knowledge in computerized accounting programs, generally accepted accounting principles, administration of employee benefits, payroll systems, spreadsheet and word processing programs at a highly proficient level.
- Administer and monitor the financial system in order to ensure that finances are maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintain the accounts payable and accounts receivable systems in order to ensure complete and accurate records of all moneys.
- Administer the monthly payroll in order to ensure that employees are paid in an accurate and timely manner.
