JOB DETAILS:
Background
A private household in Lilongwe is seeking to employ an experienced, reliable, and trustworthy gardener to join its domestic staff. This is a live-in position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- General garden maintenance: mowing, pruning, weeding, and watering
- Planting and upkeep of flower beds, lawns, and ornamental plants
- Maintenance of garden tools and equipment
- Basic upkeep of outdoor structures, walkways, and drainage
- Keeping the compound clean, tidy, and secure
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- At least 10 years’ verifiable experience in a similar role
- Sober habits — no history of alcohol or substance abuse
- A minimum of three (3) contactable references from previous employers
- Valid national identity document and clean police clearance certificate
- In good health and physically able to perform the required duties
- Literate in Chichewa and English
- Willing to work weekends and public holidays where required
- Based in or willing to relocate to Lilongwe
- Sound knowledge of local plant varieties, seasons, and irrigation practices
ACCOMMODATION
Live-in staff accommodation is provided on the premises.
