Malawi AIDS Counselling and Resource Organization (MACRO) is a locally registered nongovernmental organization (NGO) established in 1995 to complement Government’s efforts in in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other health related issues.
MACRO’s Vision is “Malawi populace free of ill-Health” and its Mission is “Transform lives of Malawians through provision of high-quality HIV and AIDS, and other health related services”.
With funding from CDC, MACRO is implementing the IMPACT Project whose purpose is: To strengthen effective measures to address unmet needs for HTS in the CDC supported districts towards the attainment of 95-95-95 goals.
MACRO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant position under IMPACT Project.
About the Role:
MACRO is seeking an experienced and qualified HIV Diagnostic Assistant under the IMPACT project. The HIV diagnostic assistant will conduct HIV risk assessments and provide quality HIV-related testing and other testing services. They will also ensure effective linkage and referrals of clients. He/she will document and coordinate testing results and clearly record, report and ensure detailed documentation related to their work.
Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)
- Age 18 or older
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent.
- Up to date MOH Certificate in HTS provision
- Training in the MOH Scan Form Technology and 3 Test Algorithm a must”
- No criminal record
- Reasonably good health and a clear state of mind
- Good communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and counselling skills.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Motivated, sensitive, and result oriented.
- Fluency in English and Chichewa/local languages.
- Have adequate vision
- Proficiency in using tablets and electronic health records.
- Must be able to ride a motorbike and Possession of valid Motorbike riding license
- Familiarity with local languages and culture.
Experience needed
At least 1-2 years of experience in HIV testing services or a related field.
