OVERVIEW
Mount Meru Petroleum Limited is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the position of Human Resources Assistant based in Lilongwe.
Reporting To:
Human Resource Manager
Job Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for supporting and coordinating HR operations for all Mount Meru Petroleum fuel stations across Malawi. The role requires a highly organized, proactive, and professional individual capable of handling recruitment, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration for station employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee HR operations for all fuel stations across Malawi
- Coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and placement of fuel station employees
- Monitor staffing levels and ensure adequate manpower across all stations
- Maintain and update employee records, contracts, and HR documentation
- Monitor employee attendance, leave management, and shift schedules for station staff
- Support payroll preparation by ensuring accurate submission of attendance, overtime, and employee data
- Conduct regular station visits to ensure compliance with company policies and labour laws
- Handle employee relations matters including grievances, disciplinary issues, and conflict resolution
- Coordinate employee inductions, trainings, and performance management activities
- Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and operational standards at all fuel stations
- Prepare and submit HR reports relating to staffing, turnover, absenteeism, and employee performance
- Support implementation of HR policies, procedures, and company initiatives across all stations
- Assist in monitoring employee welfare and maintaining a positive working environment
- Liaise with station managers on all HR-related matters and operational staff concerns
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma in Human Resources Management
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar HR role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Good knowledge of labour laws and HR practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Age Requirement:
Applicants should be between 28 and 35 years of age.
