Background
Pentecost International Christian Centre (PICC) Secondary School, a subsidiary of the Pentecost International Christian Centre, whose mandate is “to bring hope to the hopeless, life to the dying, and help people become true disciples of Jesus Christ,” is inviting applications from a committed, visionary, spiritually grounded and well qualified Christian leader to serve as Head Teacher of PICC Secondary School.
The successful candidate will provide strong academic, administrative, and spiritual leadership to the school while upholding and promoting Christian values, discipline, and academic excellence. The Head Teacher will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the school, including the supervision and development of staff, effective administration of school programmes, and the creation of a Christ-centred learning environment that nurtures the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of all students.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
- Providing overall leadership, direction, and management of the school.
- Ensuring high academic standards and effective curriculum implementation.
- Supervising, mentoring, and evaluating teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Promoting discipline, student welfare, and spiritual development in line with Christian values.
- Managing the administrative and financial operations of the school.
- Implementing policies and directives from the School Board and relevant education authorities.
- Developing and implementing school improvement strategies to enhance performance.
- Maintaining positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the community.
- Ensuring compliance with Ministry of Education policies and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a related field from a recognized institution and MSCE Certificate.
- Registration with the Teachers Council of Malawi (TCM).
- At least Five – Ten (5-10) years teaching experience, with a minimum of three (3) years in a leadership or management role in a secondary school.
- Ages between 35-50 years old
- Demonstrated experience in school administration, staff supervision, and academic management.
